Description Item Specs   According to Japanese mythology Ryujin was the god of the seas. Similar to Chinese mythology, the ruler of the seas took the form of a dragon. His palace was under the ocean and constructed from red and white coral. Jelly fish, sea turtles and fish were his servants. The rulers of Japan would trace their lineage to Ryujin. Because of this fact, it was recorded that the Empress Jingu was able to control the tides that won the victory over the Korean navy. This is the Handmade Full Tang Ryujin Dragon King Katana Samurai Sword The Katana includes a Cotton Sword Bag. Overall Length: 38.75 " Blade: Sharp Blade Length: 27.75 " Blade Material: High Carbon Steel Tsuka Length: 10.75 " Tsuka Material: Imitation Ray Skin Condition: Brand New Saya Material: Wood Features Blade: The blade has been handmade with high carbon steel, hammered out so that the carbon is evenly distributed throughout the blade for a consistent hardness. A Bo-Hi has been added to the top of the blade to decrease the weight of the blade and give audible feedback when swung. The blade also features a kissake, hamon, and comes with a thin edge already sharpened. This sword comes full tang. Saya: The Saya has been constructed from hard wood with a black dull gloss finish. The Sage-o is black cord, wrapped over a bright copper Kurigata. The Koi-guchi is a blackened steel fitting. Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The Tsuba is a blackened steel disc with a scene of Ryujin the Dragon King coiling around the blade of the sword. Two Seppas secure the Tsuba to the blade of the sword. Tsuka: The Fuchi is another scene of Ryujin against silver clouds. The Tsuka core is wooden with an imitation ray skin Same and black cord Ito. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the tang of the blade into the Tsuka. Two blackened steel Menuki decorate each side of the Tsuka. The Kashira is a mounted Bushi.
