Description Item Specs

Oda Nobunaga was one of the most ambitious, organized and brutal rulers in the history of Japan. Born into the Oda clan he was considered mad and a fool from an early age, but after he secured his position of power in his clan, and then in Japan, he was seen as brilliant. His ambition was no less than the entire conquest of Japan. During his rise and rule he fought countless battles and was a military genius who utilized cunning and courage. At the top of his reign he was assassinated by one of his loyal generals, Akechi Mitsuhide.

This is only one of several Katana's in our new Daiymo Series. This is the sword of Ode Nobunaga. The Katana has been hand crafted with all authentic fittings and dressings.
Features
  • Blade: The blade of the sword has been hand made with High Carbon Steel. The Carbon has been hammered out through the blade so that it has a universal hardness throughout the entire blade. A Bo-Hi has been added to the top of the blade to even out the weight and give audible feedback. The sword comes full tang with an O-Kissake.
  • Saya: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with high gloss black finish. The black cotton sage-o is tied around a copper Kurigata.
  • Tsuba: The Tsuba is blackened steel with a scene of two Bushi fighting Nobunaga in a river. On the reverse side of the Tsuba is Ode Nobunaga with his sword slung over his shoulder. The Habaki of the sword is a one piece brass construction. Two blackened Seppas secure the blade in the Tsuka.
  • Tsuka: The Tsuka is wooden with a ray skin Same. A black cotton Ito has been wrapped over the ray skin Same. Golden Menuki are on each side of the Tsuka rendered as dragons. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the tang into the Tsuka. The Kashira is a relief of waves in blackened steel.
