Description Item Specs   This is a Functional Battle Ready Flared Barbute Combat Helmet. A Barbute (termed a barbuta in Italian) is a visorless war helmet of 15th-century Italian design, often with distinctive "T" Sharped or "Y" shaped opening ofr the eyes and mouth. The defining characteristic of the barbute is the fact that the shape of the helmet extends all the way down to cover both sides of the face. Regardless of the type of opening, T-Shaped or Y-shaped, this characteristics was always present. This design of helmet enabled the user to wear a gorget or mail collar. This helmet is very popular and you often see them in the movies. Circumference: 26.77" Steel: 16 Gauge Steel Helmet Height: 10.5" Helmet Weight: 5 Lb 7 oz Condition: Brand New Features -The Helmet has been constructed of 16 gauge steel. It's very solid and good for SCA and re-enactment. - This barbutes features a low ridged crest forged into the top of the helmet's skull which served to strengthen the helmet without adding a significant amount of weight. -It is full size and wearable. -The helmet comes with leather liner and chin strap.
