This 14th Century Medieval Type I Gambeson is made of high quality, handmade, authentic reproduction. This gambeson is a period correct style.The gambeson is made of eloquently high quality thick cotton and is durable on its own that will not tear under stress and provides padding under armour.

It has heavy duty construction which is padded with three layers of cotton batting, which in combination with the natural fibers of its outer shell and lining makes it exceptionally breathable.

The gambeson is fastened at the front with four period-style straps and brass buckles. True to surviving originals, the gambeson’s arms are hinged at the yoke of the shoulders, rather than fully sewn to the torso, so in effect the armpits are “open”. This allows for greater ventilation and means absolutely no “pull” upon the arm when swinging a weapon. It is a period correct model of a 14th century gambeson. The Renaissance has arrived.

This gambeson has removable sleeves and can be worn as a sleeveless, short sleeve, or full sleeve gambeson.

Very flexable construction that allows you to move around freely without causing the armor to pull up.
