This sword has been constructed exactly like a hand made Katana, but with a black wooden blade.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword is made of black painted wood and is very light weight.
Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a high gloss black finish. A black cord Sage-O has been tied around the wooden kurigata.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The Tsuba has been constructed from black wood with a round cut out design.
Tsuka: The Tsuka is wooden with imitation ray skin. Black cord Ito has been wrapped over the Same. Bamboo Mekugi have been added to the sword. Two Menuki decorate each side of the Tsuka. The Kashira features breaking waves.

I was amazed at how big and beautiful this sword was. We got it just a few hours ago and it really made my husbands day. He's just thrilled with it. It's now proudly displayed on our entertainment center until we can wall mount it. It's worth every penny, very detailed and true to size. The wooden blade is shaped perfectly. Very authentic looking.
