Item Specs

"They say Japan was made by a sword. They say the old gods dipped a coral blade into the ocean, and when they pulled it out four perfect drops fell back into the sea, and those drops became the islands of Japan."

-Simon Graham, The Last Samurai

This is the Last Samurai Hand Made Full Tang Katana. The blade has been hand crafted and is fully functional. Inscribed into the steel of the blade is the Kanji "I belong to the warrior in whom the old ways have joined the new."

Features

Blade: The blade has been handmade with high carbon steel, hammered out so that the carbon is evenly distributed throughout the blade for a consistent hardness. A bohi has been added to the blade to decrease the weight of the blade and give audible feedback when swung. The blade also features a chu kissake, hamon, and comes with a thin edge already sharpened. At the base of the blade is the same kanji as seen as in the movie. The sword comes full tang.
Saya: The Sayas of the sword is constructed from hard wood with a high gloss black finish. The Koi-Guchi is bull horn. The Sageo is black cotton.
Tsuba: The Habakis are a one piece brass construction with two copper seppas. The actual Tsuba is blackened iron with a Pin Wheel design.
Tsuka: The Tsuka is wrapped with black cootton ito over Same. The tangs are secured by two bamboo Mekugis. The Menuki are copper dragons on each side of the handle. The Kashira is oxidized copper secured by the black cotton cord.
