Description Item Specs   The Jian is one of the oldest continuously used weapons in history. The Jian is 2,500 years old, and dates back to before the Three Kingdoms Era. The Jian is the hero's sword and is often referred to as the "The Gentleman's Weapon", due its elegant design. It is interesting that for 2,000 years the Jian has been present at the bloodiest conflicts in China, and yet now the Jian is most closely associated with Tai Chi. *Please note that the sword stand is sold separately. The balance on the blade is around 4 inches from the guard. Scabbard: The scabbard of the jian is constructed from wood, imitation leather, and metal is a beautifully designed piece and quite durable. The designs features serpents, dragons, and demons. Guard: The guard is a head of a dragon with ruby red eyes and amazing detail. Handle: The handle is natural hardwood with a brass pommel that continues the design of the guard.
