Description Item Specs   This is the Skyjiro Taka Chigai 1070 Differentially Hardened Forge Folded Wakizashi. The blade is made of 1070 high carbon steel that has been forge folded for a total layer count of over 3,600 layers. The blade has an authentic suguha-midare hamon and the boshi is a jizo style turn back in the kissaki. The kissaki itself is a geometric shaped chu-kissaki with sharp yokote line. The blade is finely polished to where the hamon activity and folded steel masame or linear pattern is brought out naturally using Japanese water stones. The habaki is solid yellow bronze as are the seppa, tsuba, menuki, and fuchi/kashira. The tsuba is a two-toned crossed feathers cutout design. The handle is wrapped with brown silk in hineri-maki style tied over white samegawa ray skin with gyakute or reverse mounted bronze feather menuki. The saya features genuine buffalo horn koiguchi with premium black lacquer finish. This wakizashi has a great feel when swung with enough weight and forward point of balance to cut through medium to hard targets with ease, yet has good handling for fast direction change.
