Takemoto began his career as a sword practitioner. After 30 years of training, Takemoto could not find a sword that satisfied him, so he decided to create the perfect sword. He left Taiwan and traveled to China to begin his sword smith career. After years of training in China, Takemoto was still not satisfied with his swords so he traveled to Japan to further hone his craft.
In 2005, Takemoto was the first international sword smith to create a true Tamahagane sword.
In 2006 Takemoto exhibited his swords in Atlanta, Ga. His work has since found international acclaim.
