Description Item Specs   This is the Forge Folded Handmade Tang Royal Court Eight Sided Han Wu Chinese Jian. This sword is a high quality, exquisite eight sided jian with highly detailed vine-scroll bronze fittings and semi-precious stones. The scabbard and handle are made of high quality exotic dark ebony wood which is sanded smooth and given a matte finish. This sword is a wonderful display piece and shows the height of Chinese sword making technology and culture. Features Blade: The blade of the Jian has been constructed from forge folded steel, through hardened, and highly hand polished. It has an eight-sided geometry with wavy forge folding pattern, traditionally tapered blade width in the last third of the blade and crisp lines. The blade comes full tang and sharp. Scabbard: The scabbard is masterfully made with exotic dark ebony wood, with the wood contouring to the shape of the sword. The chape (tip) of the scabbard is handcrafted antiqued bronze with ornate patterning and and semi-precious stones. It also features another scabbard band as well as decorated belt loop holder and scabbard throat, all with antiqued bronze and semi-precious stones. Handle: The handle core is made of exotic dark wood which is in an oval shape and finely sanded in a matte finish. The hand guard is a court style shape with semi-precious stones. Two highly decorated antiqued bronze retaining pins secure the blade to the handle with a silk brown cord tassel hanging from a loop on the second retaining pin. The handle is finished off with an intricate pommel, also of crafted bronze with semi-precious stones. Note: Sword stand sold separately.
